Magnetic Memory began in the attic room apartment of singer/songwriting Phil Davis. The Attic Room EP is a collection of home recordings that were self-produced over two years there. Shortly after EP release band members joined and Magnetic Memory was officially formed.

Magnetic Memory began gaining notoriety in Missouri with their "Play All the Shows We Can" tour in the Fall of 2012. The following September their songs "Molecules In The Ocean" and "Wishing Well" received radio air time and the group began booking a steady line up of shows throughout the region.
